The first Post Graduate Department of ITER named as School of Computer Application, came into being in 2002 with the mission to create and sustain an ambience of learning in which students acquire knowledge & learn to cope with the professional trends of the virtual world. Since its inception it has made substantive efforts in building national capabilities in technology, education & research. Within half-a-decade its students have figured in top ten positions in academic result in both Utkal University & Biju Patnaik University of Technology. Now, as a constituent unit of Siksha O Anusandhan University the Computer Applications department has added impetus to computer applications and contemporary research. Major IT and ITES companies regularly select MCA students in campus drives.
The Department solely recognizes teaching as a holistic activity & development of human resources in the service of the nation. It takes the opportunity to build integrity, creativity & freedom of academic experiment for new technology and dissemination of research findings.
The motivating environment enlivens the spirits of students and the efficacy of faculty strengthens the quest for quality education.
FEATURES
• A well-furnished and well-equipped library updated every year with new books, is accessible along with necessary staff strength.
• Well-maintained laboratory with 200 computers and high-speed 12 Mbps internet facility for carrying out programmes and projects of the curriculum & more innovative experiments in different environments along with research tools like Matlab are present.
• The institute in collaboration with Sun Microsystems has set up a laboratory with 100 clients attached to four numbers of SUN SOLARIS SERVERS, in order to impart high end training.
• Highly efficient and dynamic training & placement cell, imparting personality development and personnel management skill. Apart from that the students have added values to the institute by proving their excellence in technical education, and extracurricular activities. The growing reputation and excellent standard of the institute has been attracting very bright students from all over the country.
