The fifth National Symposium on Frontiers of Engineering has been inaugurated by Prof.
(Dr.) Damodar Acharya, Director, IIT, Kharagpur herein Bhubaneswar on 3rd August 2010.
It was organized by Siksha O Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar in association with Indian National Academy of Engineering, New Delhi. Chief Guest of the occasion Prof.
Damodar Acharya emphasized on the research based engineering education and he also
praised the quality education system of ITER and also various efforts taken by the authority
of the SOA University for growth of students as well as staff of the University. The meeting
was presided by Prof. P.K. Das, Director, Research and Consultancy, SOA University. He focused on the utility of IT in the reforms of power sector in the country and mining & materi
als management. Among others Guest of Honour Prof. Omkar Nath Mohanty made a beautiful deliberation by establishing a core relation between daily life of a human being visa-vis
engineering education. Abhijit Sen, Head, Infosys Bhubaneswar, Prof. M.J. Jarabi and Prof.
B.K. Sarap were present on the dias. It is held for the first time in Odisha followed by IIT,
Madras, Delhi, Mumbai and ISRO, Kalpakam. It was attended by INAE fellows from different
IITs and NITs of the country. A souvenir was released. Guest were presented with mementos.
Faculty members of the University, Deans, Directors, HODs and delegates were present on
the occasion. Prof. P.K. Rout proposed the vote of thanks. |
